Safeguarding

The Diocese in Europe – of which we are a part – promotes “Safe Churches” as part of its commitment to the the safeguarding, care and nurture of everyone within our Anglican Community in Norway.

A renewed Diocesan Safeguarding Policy and Protocol has been put in place, as of December 2015, and includes major updates in line with recent legislation changes and experience across the Church of England. The Diocesan Safeguarding Policy is made available for you here: https://europe.anglican.org/safeguarding/safeguarding

You can read on our Local Safeguarding Policy (including relevant contact details) here.

We join The Church of England in:

  • Promoting a safer environment and culture
  • Safer recruitment and support of all those with any responsibility related to children and vulnerable adults within the Church
  • Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation
  • Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons
  • Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons
  • Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others
